How to Draw a Line in Photoshop
With Photoshop, absolutely perfect lines of any shape and color can be created with the click of the mouse. Given how common lines are, Photoshop has provided users with several ways to make lines using the tablet, mouse, line tool and pen tool. However, there are some aspects to line creation that are not completely intuitive.

Tablet

Plug the USB cord on the tablet into the USB port on your computer.

Take the stylus and place the tip of the stylus on the tablet.

Press "Shift" and move your stylus in the direction you want the line to go. By pressing shift, the line will be completely straight even if your hand is not.
Mouse

Place the mouse cursor at a point where you want the line to start.

Press "Shift."

Drag the mouse in the direction you want the line to go.
Line Tool

Click your mouse at the point you want the line to start and drag the mouse until you reach the point where you want your line to end.

Click on "Stroke Path." Click the "OK" button.
Pen Tool

Click on the point where you want the line to start.

Right-click. Click on "Stroke Path." Click the "OK" button.

Tips & Warnings
When using the Pen Tool, lines can be created by clicking and holding the second point and then dragging it in any direction.
Make sure to stroke the path when using the line tool or pen tool.
Be sure to save your work often.
