How to Remove PS2 Parental Control
The PlayStation2 automatically comes with a parental control in place that will ask for a password when you watch most DVDs. If you don't need the parental control for your Playstation2, you can turn it off. Turning off the parental control is simple, and it can be turned back on at any time. Find out how to turn the parental control off and get rid of the pesky password for good.

Insert any DVD into your PlayStation 2. When the movie starts, press the "Start" button on the controller to bring up the DVD menu options.

Move over the options until you locate one that says "Setup". Press the X button.

Press the right directional button twice to go over to "Custom Setup".

Select "Parental Control" and press the right directional button. This should put you on "Region." Press the down button to go to "Level."

Change the level value to "Off". This disables the parental control.

Eject the DVD from the PlayStation2 and press the "Reset" button. Your changes should now be saved.

Tips & Warnings
Change the PlayStation2 "Level" value back to "On" to turn parental control back on.

Hey Tressielynn, I had the same problem. What you have to do is after you start playing the DVD you have to "Stop" it, and I did it twice. If the DVD is playing it won't let you select the Parental Controls. I just pressed Select and hit the "Stop" icon, and then repeated it again so that the whole set of Options moves to the bottom left corner of the screen. After you do that you should be able to access the Parental Controls. -

The PS2 won't let me get to the "level" option. I follow the steps up to getting to custom setup and when I get the Parental Controls hitting the right directional doesn't do anything. Any tips? -
