1
Before you treat your leg pains, determine the cause. Are your muscles cramping? Or did the pain occur because of muscle overuse?
-
2
Rest your legs and keep them elevated.

3
Apply ice or a cold pack to the area where the leg pains are. Ice works by numbing the area.
-
4
If your calf is cramping, stretch your legs. Imagine there's a string on your big toe. Then, pull the imaginary string upwards to stretch the cramping calf muscle.
-
5
If the cramping occurs in another area, try to lengthen the constricted muscle. If that's difficult to accomplish, massage the area.
-
6
When your muscles remain sore, treat the pains with an over-the-counter medication like acetaminophen or ibuprofen.
