Convert AVI to Sansa

The Audio Video Interleave (AVI) file extension is a very common format used for music or movie files that are meant to be played on a computer. Sansa handheld video players do not recognize the AVI file extension, so if you want to play an AVI file on a Sansa device, you will need to change it into a different format first. To convert an AVI file into the Sansa format, you will need to use a video conversion program.

Tips & Warnings

  • Multiple AVI files can be converted to the Sansa format at the same time. Place all of your AVI files into a single folder and then click on the "Add Folder" button instead of the "Add Files" button. You can then add the entire folder to the conversion program instead of just one single file.

  • Keep a secondary backup copy of your original AVI file in a different folder just in case there is a problem with the conversion. If the conversion process fails, such as if your computer crashed unexpectedly, your original file can be ruined.
