How to Make a Stuffed Animal Hammock
Storage space is a challenge in most American homes, especially those with growing families. Babies and children collect a lot of stuffed animals, and parents need an easy but efficient way to store them. Hanging a hammock, regular-sized or smaller, to hold a stuffed animal collection can be an ideal solution in a nursery or child's bedroom. A hammock not only gets those stuffed animals out of the way, but it looks great in a child's bedroom too.

1
Decide where you want to hang the hammock. Consider how the hammock is constructed and the safety issues involved in hanging it. Be sure the walls or ceiling you have chosen are strong and will hold the hammock's weight.
-
2
Measure where the hooks should be set. Most hammocks come with a ring at each end. With the hammock stretched to its fullest length, lightly mark these spots on the walls or ceiling with a pencil.

Tips & Warnings
Most hammocks have two ends. There are triangular-shaped hammocks specially made for storage that have three hooks rather than two. In either case, hanging the hammock across a corner of the room will accommodate the shape and any height requirements. There are many anchor/hook devices to choose from when hanging heavy items from walls or ceilings. This hardware is identified by the amount of weight it is designed to hold and the type of building materials it is designed to work with. Research online or make a trip to the hardware store to determine the best type of hardware for your project.
Always use extra care when hanging anything around children. Though it may be fine to hang a hammock low in an infant's nursery, a hammock will be an irresistible climbing or grabbing temptation for crawling babies and toddlers. It is best to hang the hammock high enough that kids cannot reach it.
