How to Use Duac
Duac is a topical prescription medication for the treatment of acne. It has two acne fighting components: clindamycin and benzoyl peroxide. These two ingredients work together to reduce the incidence of blackheads and whiteheads, decrease bacteria and make the skin less oily.

1
Get a prescription for Duac from your physician. Duac is available only with a prescription. Let the doctor know if you have any allergies or sensitivities to clindamycin or benzoyl peroxide. Your doctor should also be aware of any other medications and products you are using on your skin, either with or without a prescription.
-
2
Wash your face with cleanser. Usually, a gentle cleanser such as Cerave or Cetaphil is recommended; a medicated or harsh cleanser combined with Duac can dry out the skin. Be sure all makeup is removed. Pat your face dry.

3
Squeeze a fingertip amount onto the tips of your fingers. The manufacturer recommends using your fingertip as a guide. The length of the tip of your finger to the first joint is the amount needed for the facial area. An additional 1 and 1/2 fingertip amount is needed if you will be applying it to your back also.

4
Apply the Duac evenly to the entire area to be treated. Do not just use on spots. Use over the entire area. Duac is usually applied once daily in the evening, but your doctor may vary this.
-
5
Be consistent and continue to use Duac. It takes Duac four to six weeks to show improved results.

Tips & Warnings
Duac may be applied in the morning prior to putting on makeup, but it is most commonly used in the evening. If you miss an application of Duac, do not double the dose, just apply as usual the next day.
