Writing Ideas

You are in the mood to write another ehow article and whammy you are stopped in your tracks because you can not think of anything to write about. Writer's block happens to the best of us.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Stop thinking so hard about writer's block. Allow your mind to wonder. While you letting your mind wonder ask yourself is that a 'how to' idea? If it is, then write it down. Sit outside when thinking of writing ideas. Their is so much to look at outside it really allows room for wonder.

  2. Step 2

Consider every conversation an opportunity to have an writing idea. My brother-in-law was here this evening and he asked what I have been up to. I explained that I am attempting to be a writing machine. He laughed and asked for details. Then he started to give suggestions. I wrote them down.

  3. Step 3

Everything you do everyday may be considered as a possible ehow article idea. What did you do today, what are you doing tomorrow, are their any 'how tos' lingering? If so start writing them down. Keep a list underneath your monitor as a resource for writing ideas. Check the writing idea off after you have written an article on it.

on 7/1/2009 Well said, but my everyday life seems so routine I still come up with "I don't know how to do anything useful". I'll have to do the mind wandering bit.
