How to fix a laptop motherboard

  1. Step 1

    The first thing you will need to do is to identify the type of motherboard you laptop has. Once you have established this you can go to a store like tigerdirect to purchase a new mother board or you can probably go on ebay and find one at a good price just be careful.

  2. Step 2

    Once you have the new motherboard you will need to do some research on the type of computer you have. You will need the exact information on your laptop to figure out how to disassemble and reassemble your laptop. If you were able find an exact match to you motherboard you should be able to use the same hardware off your old motherboard and basically just unplug and replug everything up. Be careful when removing and installing the individual pieces making sure that everything fits and you are not forcing any thing. If there are any doubts look at the instructions that you have already looked up.

  3. Step 3

    once you have everything installed and the case put back together you need to power on the computer. once the computer powers on you will probably need the cd that came with the mother board so you can install drivers and system files. After that is complete the only thing left is to configure your software(mainly windows) to suit your needs.
