How to Control Facial Hair

How to Control Facial Hair thumbnail
Men can shave!

A normal part of men's daily grooming routine is shaving. Men shave with a straight edge razor or an electric razor. Men are expected to shave and there is nothing wrong with it. What if you are a woman?

Some women, due to hormonal imbalances, young or old, grow hair on their chin, their lip, or even on their face. Remember the caricature of the bearded circus woman or the wizened old witch with black hairs growing from moles on her face? Sounds awful, doesn't it?

Everyday women do experience facial hair issues. These women are not in the circus and they are not witches! The dilemma is how to hide it and how to control it. I will suggest some ways to do it. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1
      Women like it smooth

Do not shave whatever you do. This will only stimulate hair growth tenfold!!! Men like to have manly stubble, women do not.

    • 2

Try waxing it professionally instead. Waxing is not permanent and hair growth will also be stimulated. However, it should keep the majority of the hair away for 2-6 weeks. Keep doing it religiously and eventually, the hair growth will be reduced. Waxing is not terribly expensive.

    • 3

Do not wax yourself. There are too many stories of women waxing their skin off in addition to the hair. Then try to explain that to the world. It can be terribly embarrassing. Compare it to the episode of "Sex and the City" when Samantha gets a chemical peel and can't go out until the extreme redness goes away!!!!

Go to a spa that can perform laser hair removal. Laser hair removal is rumored to be permanent. You must repeat it several times before that will happen and some new growth can still appear. It is also very expensive.

    • 5

Try an electrologist. This is when a tweezer- like tool delivers an electrical shock to the root of the hair. It kills the hair follicle so that it won't grow back. That, too, requires many return visits.

    • 6

Experiment with gels or creams for hair removal. You can do these at home but read the instructions carefully. This method can be effective for up to two weeks.

      Tweezers are easy and inexpensvie

Use a tweezer to battle the hair. Be aware that it will grow back. Daily, you will need to inspect the area for new growth. This is the most economical way to control female facial hair but it can be a lot of work.

Tips & Warnings

  • Don't be discouraged in the battle for a facial hair removal. Only fight the ugly black or white ones, and leave the peach fuzz alone.

  • Check the credentials of any spa you go to before you allow waxing, electrology, or laser.

  • If you use a cream or gel, try it first on a small area to make sure it will not burn or tear your skin.

  • Do not despair if you have facial hair. It is normal and many people, teenagers or old women, experience this. You may not be able to eradicate it but you can control it!
