How to Make a Small Apartment Feel Larger
Although small apartments are cozy and cost-efficient, they can feel confining, and can quickly become cramped with excessive clutter, which reduces living space. Inadequately arranged furniture and poor color schemes also cause already small spaces to feel even smaller. Since space is so valuable in small apartments, make proper use of it. Go through all of your belongs. Clear all items you don't use or care about from the apartment.

Remove excess furniture pieces. Keep one prominent item, such as a large couch, for the living room and only a few small furniture pieces. Position the furniture at different angles away from the walls to create an open atmosphere.

Install vertical storage space, such as floor-to-ceiling bookshelves, to place your favorite knickknacks on. Store items you don't want to display in storage bins inside of cabinets and under your bed. Utilize multipurpose storage, as well, such as ottomans and window seats with built-in storage.

Allow plenty of natural light into your apartment to open up the space. Natural light makes small spaces appear large and airy.

Install mirrors on the walls to reflect the natural light coming into the apartment from the windows. Shiny glass décor also reflects light and adds depth to small spaces.
