There's cheap web hosting for 5 dollars a month or more then there's super cheap web hosting for under 5 dollars a month.

If you're looking for super cheap web hosting that isn't total garbage there are still a few places that offer it.

Keep in mind though that you get what you pay for.

1. There are a couple methods that I use to find super cheap web hosting. The first method is the almighty Google search. You can try searching Google for terms like "super cheap web hosting" or "super cheap+1 dollar monthly web hosting".
   
   Notice I used the plus "+" sign in my search. That's a little Google search trick to help append keywords your searching for.
   
   Using this method is slow and will have you sifting through the hundreds or more ads for cheap web hosting. Most of these "super cheap" web hosting services will no doubt be more than you want to pay.

2. My next and preferred method is to go to FindMyHosting.com and use their search tool.

   Under each drop down menu (see the image) you select the monthly price, hosting platform, disk, data transfer per month, and email accounts. After making your selections you choose the "List Matching Hosting Plans!" button and view your options.

   Hosting Choices

   The next window that comes up will be all the hosting choices available. Each choice will have a user rating, the amount of bandwidth they offer, disk space and so on. If you don't see the options you want you may have to try several times. Again, you get what you pay for so don't expect to get large amounts of storage with unlimited bandwidth.
   
   I have found several good hosting choices this way that work well for small web sites.

Tips & Warnings

• Experiment with the search tool. Also learn what the different hosting terms and options are. Most of the options you may not even need.
• Very rarely, but it has happened, that I bought a hosting service only to find out at the end of the year the price went up. This was just an introductory offer. Fortunately the increase wasn't much and the service provided was exceptionally good.
