Email Signature With Pizzazz!
Email Signature With Pizzazz!

A friend recently asked how I do those links in my emails and on my blogs. Most of us either stumbled on how to do it or a friend showed us how. Let me be the friend who helps you do it if you aren’t sure how.

Added info:
For those who don’t know, simply click any pic in anyone's eHow articles to get a bigger view. Many may not show up bigger but chances are, they will be at least slightly bigger.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Internet connection
  • Message or mail service
  1. Step 1
    Signature Setup
    Signature Setup

I use this signature in my emails. Occasionally, I change the list because I may focus on a specific site for a bit and, to be honest, some of the links I used to use have gone on the ignore list. Your email client should have some sort of mail options that leads you to a signature page. You can decide on font, color, placement and number of links. If you get stuck, check out the help button.

  2. Step 2

Decide on a caption/title for your link. Links with parts or all of the actual title are easier to index by search engines. Using – Clink Here – will not help at all. If you have a list of links – Yikes! 5 Click Here-s would confuse even the list maker! It never hurts to be sure there is a strong keyword in your caption/title either!

  3. Step 3
    Copy And Paste the URL
    Copy And Paste the URL

Go to the page you will be linking to and copy the address. Go back to the page where you want to insert the address. Highlight the title and click on the link button. The page at http:// will appear. Simply paste in the copied URL address of the page you want the title to link to. Then click OK.

  4. Step 4

This is a very universal procedure and most programs use the same general hypertext to set up links on a web page, a blog or an email - or just about anywhere you want to put a link. You can also insert hyperlinks into word processing programs using the same procedure before uploading your documents.

  5. Step 5
    eHow Hyperlink Insert
    eHow Hyperlink Insert

eHow has a typical link builder in its message box as well. Of course, there is also a resource link at the bottom of this Article Writing Wizard that is the perfect place to add a link to a related page, web site or blog that relates to the document you are adding a link to.

  6. Step 6

One last bigggggggggggggg step - always check out all links once you've set them up. Be sure they are working and lead where you want them to!

  7. Step 7

Now - use that email or message box and talk to people about what you would like them to check out. Use your blog and add a link to your eHow article if it relates to the blog. Write an eHow article about your blog or website if it is informative.

Tips & Warnings
  • Always add at least one link as a resource to the bottom of an eHow article that somehow pertains to the article you've written rather than leaving it blank.
  • You can add a site link to your profile page. Use that spot to highlight any personal or business blog or website you chose to drive additional traffic to it as long as it is within eHow's rules and guidelines.
  • If you have a lot of articles that were written before eHow got it's new look, you may have to check to see if you do have a link in the resource section. (I have lots to fix myself!)
  • Adding a link at the bottom that is related to your article is a perfect way to add traffic to wherever you want it to go!
  • Add an eHow link to the resource site, too, to build traffic for both ends.
  • Add a link to any emails, blogs or sites to eHow to build your traffic.
  • These techniques also work between blogs and web pages unrelated to eHow - of course!
  • When adding resource links to the end of your eHow article, keep it minimal. Toooooo many links bore people and they stop looking or don't even think of clicking any links. I've caught myself doing that even with people I like a lot!
  • Don't add links that are totally unrelated - just one waste-of-time link is the end of further exploration of your resource list by most viewers.
