When your kids come in after a hard day of playing outside, most often their clothes are covered in grass stains and mud splotches. This can be a huge problem when they were not supposed to be playing in said clothes. Never fear, though. There are several easy ways to get those pesky grass stains out of your kids' clothes.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

First, lay out the grass stained clothing. Determine the extent of the grass stains, and how many are on the clothing items.

  2. Step 2

Make a paste of the powdered detergent and water. Spread the paste onto the soiled item. Allow the piece of grass stained clothing to sit for 10 to 15 minutes, and rinse the paste off using warm water. Check the grass stained to see if it has been removed. If the paste removed the grass stain, launder clothing item as normal.

  3. Step 3

If the powdered detergent paste did not remove the grass stains, you will want to try taking a washcloth and applying a rubbing alcohol and water mixture to it. Blot the grass stained item with the water/alcohol mix and allow to air dry. Rinse the stain with cold water, and try the paste mix on the grass stain. Scrub the paste in with a scrub brush for stain removal. Launder clothing item as usual.

  4. Step 4

If the grass stain is on white clothing, a mix of bleach and hydrogen peroxide will work wonders. Mix bleach and water in equal parts, and add 3 parts of cold water. Apply this mixture to the grass stain and allow it to sit for an hour or so. Rinse the grass stain thoroughly, and launder the clothing item as usual.

Tips & Warnings
  • Never use bleach or hydrogen peroxide on colored items.
