This article is about straightening your hair without a flat iron. Instead we use a blow dryer, or a hair dryer as some may call it.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • hair/blow dryer
  • hair clips or
  • hair ties
  • brush (with an opening between the bristles)or
  • A wide tooth comb
  • mirror(to look in while you do it)
  1. Step 1

Let me start by saying I that I have thick, wavy hair, and this really works for me. It is very important that you use a brush that has openings in the back. This allows the heat to pass through instead of holding the heat. Basically, this cuts down on frizziness. However if your in need, and you don't have a brush like this, then you may use a comb. Wide tooth is perfered as it would be easier, and ultimately, quicker to use.

  2. Step 2

Now you may separate your hair into two sides. A left, and a right. Now divide each side into a top, and a bottom. Put the top layers on each side into a bun, or just clip it. Take some hair 1-2 inch across, and insert your brush/comb underneath the hair. Start by the roots. Next we turn the hair/blow dryer on high heat. Now comes the fun part.

  3. Step 3

Point the dryer(blower) in a downward position over head. The goal here is to brush/comb while using the hair dryer to apply heat. Basically, you will use on hand to brush, and the other to apply heat. try to keep the brush/comb parallel to the dryer. Its up to you how many times you run it through. I do mine 1 or 2 times. Then you may turn dryer off while you prepare your next section of hair. I do this so the dryer doesn't get to hot.

  4. Step 4

Now you may go through the rest of your hair. Straighten the back, and then the two top layers. Your bangs can be styled last if you have them. I discovered this teqniuqe when my flat iron quit working. It straightens my hair, this actually works for me better than the flat iron. It doesn't make my hair look flat, and its a little quicker too.
