If you have koi, you have probably been advised to quarantine your fish. Now, you don't have a clue in the world what that means. Here is how to quarantine your fish:

Things You'll Need:

  • A special quarantine tank, of You can use an inflatable kiddie pool floated in the pond.
  • Pond salts
  • Pond netting to go over the pool
  1. Step 1

    First of all, quarantine means to keep the fish isolated from the others until you know he's disease free. So this is only temporary, only 2 weeks. After the 2 week period is up and you know the new fish is disease free, you can release him into the pond by putting him in a bag of water and floating it on the top of the pond for an hour. Then release the fish.

    If you are using an inflatable pool, inflate it and fill it 3/4 up with water, unless you have a real shallow pool. Now, float it in the pond. Tips & Warnings
  • In most cases, if your fish has a disease, you can send him back. Don't be afraid to do that!
  • Don't add the fish if they have a disease!
