Standard U.S. postage is set by the United States Postal Service. Other mail carriers, such as FedEx and UPS, also set their own prices. Postage calculators make calculating domestic postage a fairly simple task. You can calculate domestic postage online with postage calculators provided by all three of the major shipping corporations.

• Mail scale
• Tape measure

Instructions

1. Weigh your mail by placing it on the scale.

2. Take length, width and height measurements of your item in its packaging using your tape measure.

3. Collect your zip code and the zip code of the place where you are trying to send your package.

4. Choose which mail provider you wish to use to send your package.

5. Insert the information collected into the service's package calculator online.

6. Select the kind of packaging you are using, whether a postcard or a large package, your own packaging or the service's packaging.

7. Select how quickly you are trying to send your package.

8. Submit your form. The postage calculator will come up with a price list based on arrival date.
