How to Use Fabric Cording
Fabric cording can create a beautiful finish for couches, cushions and other pieces of furniture. The cording is usually a piece of rope covered in fabric, with a leftover seam allowance that you can easily sew onto other fabric pieces. It offers a nice finish to a variety of furniture, and can be installed as you upholster a piece of furniture. Does this Spark an idea?

3
Use a cording foot to sew closely to the cord itself. Backstitch at both ends.
-
4
Flip the two flaps of fabric over. You will see the cording stick out cleanly between the two layers; its seam allowance will be grouped with the other fabric's seam allowance.
