Adobe Photoshop is a first-class graphics program with a variety of tools to suit your every need. With it, you can produce or modify images for your ads, brochures and flyers as well as your interoffice documents and reports. One of the most frequently used tools in Photoshop is the "Fill" tool or "Paintbucket." Using the "Fill" tool, you can fill a particular part of the canvas with a color or pattern of your choosing.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Photoshop
  1. Step 1

Open Photoshop. Now open a new document by going to "File" and clicking "New." In the panel that opens, input the size requirements for your project.

  2. Step 2

Go to the "Toolbar" and select the "Polygonal Selection" tool. Go to the canvas. Click on it where you want to start creating a shape. Now click again several times to form the outline of a shape you want to fill. To close the shape, go to the first point you created. Click on it.

  3. Step 3

Go to "Toolbar." Select the "Fill" tool (it looks like a paint-bucket). Go to the "Toolbar," click on the "Foreground" color. In the panel that opens, change the color to whatever you want. Or, if you prefer, go to the top and change the "Fill" tool settings to "Pattern" and select a pattern you like from those offered.

  4. Step 4

Click on the selected area on your canvas. It fills the selection with the foreground color or pattern your selected.

Tips & Warnings
