How to Change the Oil on a Kawasaki 440
by Robert GoodThe Kawasaki 440 is an in-line two-stroke engine. This engine is also called the T/A 440, and it was first produced in the early 1980s. The 440 was made for snowmobiles but has been installed in ultralight aircraft, motorcycles and watercraft. The engine holds three quarts of Kawasaki two-stroke oil. The drain plug is on the bottom of the engine's crankcase. You can purchase the oil at a Kawasaki dealer or from a Kawasaki website.
Step 1
Place the drain pan under the crankcase. Make sure that the drain plug is directly over the center of the drain pan.
Step 2
Remove the drain plug from the bottom of the engine using the ratchet and socket. Drain the oil into the pan. Replace the plug on the bottom of the engine.
Step 3
Remove the oil cap from the right side of the engine. Pour three quarts of oil into the engine. Replace the oil cap on the engine.
