How to Reverse an eBay Bid
There are a number of reasons someone needs to reverse their bid on an item listed on eBay. Accidentally entering the wrong amount or the seller changing the description are among some of the acceptable choices. The eBay terminology for reversing a bid is "bid retraction."

When eBay bids Can Be Reversed
-
1
Check the amount you entered and submitted. If there is a typographical error--such as $99.50 when you wanted to bid $9.50--submit a bid retraction form to eBay, then resubmit the correct bid amount on the auction item.
-
2
Monitor the item description after you have submitted a bid. Often times, a seller might revise the description of an item with updated condition or features, which might alter the reason you wanted or needed the item. If the item description has changed and does not meet your needs, submit a retraction using the eBay form.

-
3
Contact the seller by email or telephone and request the seller remove your bid. It is solely up to the seller as to whether he chooses to cancel your bid.
-
4
Fill out and submit a bid retraction form at eBay if, after attempting to contact the seller, your emails have been returned, or the seller's phone number is incorrect or disconnected.

Tips & Warnings
Bid retractions are accepted by eBay up to the last 12 hours of an auction. Should you need to retract or reverse a bid during the final 12 hours of an auction, the form must be submitted within one hour of when the bid you want to retract was placed. You cannot retract a "Buy It Now" bid once the purchase is confirmed.
EBay views bid reversals and retractions very seriously. Changing your mind about buying an item and wanting to withdraw your bid is not an option.
