Drawing can be one of the most rewarding experiences in our lives. Drawing what we enjoy doing, watching, or dreaming of makes this process even more enjoyable. Shoes, Ice skates, and subject matter of that kind are easier to draw than other things, because they are merely a few lines put together in very simple ways.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Paper
  • Pen or pencil
  • Picture of an ice skate (optional)
  1. Step 1
    The beginning of the skate

    The beginning of the skate

Draw a line down and a line out, very much like an "L" . Draw a small line from the lower part of the "L" up about one quarter of the way up the first vertical line drawn. This should look like a "L" with a lip on it.

  2. Step 2
    The shoe of the skate

Draw a rolling line, like a curve, from the top of the "L" to the smaller bottom of the "L". Draw little circles along the entire curved line. These little circles are the lace eyelets.

  3. Step 3
Adding the struts of thew skate

Draw three small vertical lines from the bottom of the shoe. Start the first line at the heel. Begin the second line in the middle of the shoe. Draw the third line from the toe down. Each of these lines should be the same length. These will be the struts and support of the skate or blade.

  4. Step 4
    A nearly complete skate

    A nearly complete skate

Draw a curved line from the front of the skate, curve around and then touch the bottom of each of the struts of the skate. This curved line will be the blade of the skate. Continue the curved line past the back of the boot of the skate.

  5. Step 5
    The final step

    The final step

Erase the top of the skate, and add an oval so the skate looks like it would hold a foot. Flatten the top point of the skate and drawn an oval that touches each of the sides.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be consistent with your lines. Make sure all of the strut lines are equal shape. Making the curved lines in one sweeping motion is easier than trying to do it parts.
