How to Create a Karaoke Video
A karaoke video is a special kind of CD format that is actually video and audio combined to create a CD+G format. CD+G is an abbreviation for CD plus Graphics. A karaoke CD contains regular CD audio data plus graphics functionality, which is how lyrics are displayed on a computer or TV screen during the playing of the song. Special applications are available to record a song and attach the lyric graphics to the song, complete with the syllable indicator, and save it as a CD+G project. Several songs may be processed within a project and burned to a CD at one time using the application. Some of the available karaoke creation applications include Karaoke Builder and Karaoke CD+G Creator Pro.

Download and install the karaoke CD+G software, if necessary. Open the application. Click "New Project" from the navigation bar.

Import the audio file first: Navigate to the audio file to be used for the karaoke CD. Open it within the new CD+G project.

Locate the song lyrics with an Internet search. Copy and paste the lyrics into a text file. Open the text file within the new CD+G project. Import a lyrics sheet in text file format, convert it to a lyrics graphic, and apply the lyrics graphic to an imported audio file, such as an MP3.

Attach lyrics graphics to a song using the karaoke CD+G software: as the application plays the song, select points where the highlights are to be applied to the lyrics.

Match the lyrics with the audio to complete the graphics application process. You can pause, fast forward and reverse the audio while applying lyric graphics.

Save the project in CD+G format as a karaoke song once song is complete.

Repeat the process for desired number of karaoke songs. Insert a blank CD into the CD burner on the computer.

Select the "Burn CDG" option from the start menu from the application.

Click "Add Files" and select the CD+G files to create the new CD.

Click "Burn." A progress indicator will show when the CD has finished burning.

Test the CD+G CD in a karaoke machine or another karaoke application on a computer.
