How to Convert MP3 to CD-DA

If you have some MP3 files that you want to get to CD-DA format, which is the format of the audio files on an audio CD, you can actually convert those MP3 files to CD-DA files. To convert MP3 to CD-DA, which is also called CDA, you have to actually burn the MP3 files to a blank CD. Using Burn4Free CD and DVD, which is a popular program on CNET Download Center, you can quickly convert your MP3 files to CD-DA.

Instructions

      Download and install Burn4Free CD and DVD to your computer from CNET Download Center (see Resources). This is a freeware program, so you do not have to pay to download or use it.

      Open Burn4Free CD and DVD on your computer. Drag and drop the MP3 files that you want to convert into the open white area of the Burn4Free CD and DVD screen.

      Look for the "Preferences" button on the toolbar and click it. Select "AUDIO -- CD Writer Settings" to configure your project. Select your CD drive if it has not already defaulted to that selection. Select whether you want the CD to eject when the process is complete. Click "Apply" to save your settings and then click "OK."

      Insert a blank CD into your CD-writable drive. This should be the drive you selected in the CD Writer Settings in Burn4Free CD and DVD.

      Look on the toolbar for the "Burn Audio" button and click it. This will burn the MP3 files to CD, which converts them to the CD-DA format. You will see a progress bar while the files burn to CD. If you selected for the CD to auto-eject, then it will do that when the process is complete. You can also eject the CD using the eject button on the toolbar. The new CD-DA files will be on the CD that you just created.
