How to Make a Paper Diego's Backpack
Make a paper Diego backpack to use as a party decoration, favor or just for fun on a rainy day. You could even make it a game by using tape instead of glue and allowing the children to pin the parts on the rescue pack. Kids love Diego and his cousin Dora the Explorer, but the manufactured toys and accessories can get expensive. Include Diego in your crafting fun instead and make your child a rescue pack of his own using paper and a few simple craft supplies.
Things You'll Need
- Coloring page of Diego's rescue pack
- Construction paper (orange, red, yellow, black, white and pink)

1
Choose a coloring page of Diego's rescue pack. You can find one on the Nick Jr. website that is available for printing or pick one from a coloring book you have.
-
2
Using sharp scissors, cut out the outline of Diego's backpack on the coloring page. Make sure to stay on the lines and do not leave any excess white around the edges of the backpack. Trace Diego's rescue pack onto the orange paper and use the scissors to cut out around the tracing.

Draw two ovals that are about three inches in length and two inches wide onto the white construction paper and cut them out. Then draw two small circles, about the size of a penny, onto the black construction paper and cut them out. Use liquid glue to attach the black circles onto the white ovals to form eyes for Diego's rescue pack. Glue each eye near the upper middle of the rescue pack.

4
Draw two eyebrows in a rounded, triangular shape onto the yellow paper and cut them out. These should each be about one inch wide. Glue the eyebrows onto Diego's backpack about half an inch above the eyes.

5
Draw a U shaped mouth about 2 inches tall and 3 inches wide onto the red construction paper and cut it out. Then draw a tongue onto the pink paper by making a half circle that is about ½ inch in diameter. Glue the tongue to the bottom of the mouth and then glue the mouth near the bottom of Diego's rescue pack.

6
Allow Diego's backpack to dry flat before hanging for decoration.
