Learn how to make a gum wrapper necklace to relive this simple pleasure.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Gum Wrappers (30-40 for an average sized necklace)
  • Clear Tape
  1. Step 1

Collect the gum wrappers. Either the outer paper wraps can be used or the inner foil wraps. Both work well for this project and each produces a different kind of necklace.

  2. Step 2

Fold the gum wrapper in half the long way and then unfold it again. Bring both long edges in to the center fold. Fold the gum wrapper in half the long way again to enclose the long edges inside.

  3. Step 3

Fold the gum wrapper in half width-wise and then unfold it again. Bring both short edges in to the center fold. Fold the gum wrapper in half width-wise again.

  4. Step 4

Repeat steps 2 and 3 to make as many gum wrapper links as you desire for the necklace.

  5. Step 5

Connect the links by slipping two links together to make an "L" shape. As you add the links together they will make a zigzag shape that gets longer as more links are added. Connect the last link to the first link and tape it to secure.
