If you are going to write articles for the web, such as articles for article directories, articles for blogs, or website content, they must be well written. People won't want to read your work if your articles aren't crafted well. Wondering how to write articles fit for the web that will get your reader's attention? Here are some excellent steps for writing effective articles for the web.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Keep paragraphs short when you write articles for the web. Large paragraphs of text tend to look very daunting to readers and make information more difficult to digest. Some people will see this and just skip your article. It is best to use small paragraphs that are only 2-5 sentences for effective articles that people will read.

  2. Step 2

Use spelling and grammar check. With a good word processor program this should be fairly easy to do. However, don't rely only on spell and grammar check alone. They can be helpful, but they won't catch everything for you. Take time to carefully re-read articles to make sure they don't have any glaring errors that will turn off your readers.

  3. Step 3

Create a good title that will get the attention of readers. Effective articles have to be able to catch the attention of readers with the title. If you want to know how to write articles that will their attention, you must start with a great title. This is the very first thing that a reader sees. If they don't like the title, there is a good chance they'll keep looking. Make the title descriptive but interesting when writing articles for the web.

  4. Step 4

Use simple language. Don't try to impress your readers with big words. Instead work to write on a 6th-7th grade level. This way anyone can easily understand what you are writing about. Readers that find articles for the web that look too technical will move on to something they can more easily understand, so effective articles must be easy to read.

  5. Step 5

Break up your article text for effective articles for the web. When you have huge amounts of text, it looks scary for readers. When you break it up, it doesn't look as difficult to get through. You can easily use bullet points, numbering, and subheadings to keep text broke up so it is more easily readable.

  6. Step 6

Write with passion and knowledge. Don't try putting articles on the web on topics you know little about. Readers will quickly figure out that you are no expert. Also make sure that you write with passion. Put yourself into the articles you write. With passion and knowledge you can write effective articles that really affect your readers.
