Grounding the 12v amp when installing a stereo can save your electronics in case of an overload. So let’s get started, just follow the steps below to continue.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Find a nice flat spot to mount your terminal. I found my flat spot under the rear car seat.

  2. Step 2

Grind off the paint. You can’t have paint where you are mounting the terminal. It ensures the ground will have a good solid connection.

  3. Step 3

Drill a hole in the flat spot so you can screw down the terminal. Now screw down the terminal to the flat spot with a screw and screw the screw through the hole you have just made.

  4. Step 4

If you have a large terminal, you can use more then one screw. When there is an overload in the circuit, the overload will go to the terminal and be released from there. You don’t have to worry about electricity going to your rear seat. This will not shock you. That’s about it, you are done.
