Stage performers know very well that the makeup you wear day-to-day will not work for you on stage. You may look incredible during the day or even at night with your regular style makeup, but the moment you step on stage with your day-to-day makeup, it will make you look… well, dead.(This does not apply to people who overdo their makeup during the day.)

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Liquid Liner
  • Skin color eyeshadow (base)
  • Two pieces of eyeshadow of different shades (light and dark)
  • Mascara
  • Foundation
  • Lipliner
  • Lipstick (dark shade - not day shade)
  • Lip gloss
  • Blush
  • Blush Brush
  • Eyeshadow brush
  • Foundation Sponge
  1. Step 1

Apply foundation to your face with sponge - all over. Make sure that you cover all parts of your face and blend it in with your hairline and neck. In order to find the right shade of foundation, apply a bit to the top of your hand. If the color blends in, you have the right color. Otherwise move on.

  2. Step 2

Apply base eyeshadow all over eyelid to even out the skin tone and help make the next layer pop.

  3. Step 3

Apply liquid liner right along eyelash. Top only. Don't apply liquid liner to the bottom lid, unless you want a disaster.

  4. Step 4

Apply lighter eyeshadow color to the inner edge of your eyelid.

  5. Step 5

Apply darker eyeshadow color to the outer edge of your eyelid. Don't be shy about applying a lot of makeup here. Most people are too conservative on this step, because they are worried about it being too much. If you do not apply enough here, your audience will not be able to see any makeup on you whatsoever. You don't want to look like a corpse when belly dancing. You want to be able to make eye contact as you do your belly dance moves. Allow your audience to see/find your eyes.

  6. Step 6

Re-apply your liner, in case any smudges occur.

  7. Step 7

Apply two or three coats of mascara.

  8. Step 8

Apply a lot of blush to contour your face.

  9. Step 9

Apply a bit of powder to your lips followed by lip liner to contour your lips - this will help in allowing your lipstick to stay on and stay put while you're sweating and dancing. Next apply your lip stick and gloss.

  10. Step 10

Voila! Perform like a true diva!
