There are many factors to consider when buying koi for your pond. Some are the size of the fish you have, the number of fish in your pond, and of course, your budget. So read this article carefully before buying koi for your pond.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Pond
  • Money
  1. Step 1

First, take into consideration the size of your pond. The bigger your pond, the more fish it can support, assuming your pond has good filtration. Also, the bigger the pond, the bigger the fish that can live there.

  2. Step 2

Next, the number of fish. The number of fish you can buy is determined by the number of fish in the pond already. The rule of thumb is one gallon for every one inch of fish. Now this doesn't mean if you have a 500 gallon pond that you get 500 inches of fish. DON'T OVERPOPULATE YOUR POND!

  3. Step 3

Now the most important factor is your budget. Some koi can be 6000 dollars. So go ahead and decide on how much you can spend on fish. You don't have to spend thousands of dollars to get a beautiful fish. Hope this helps.
