How to Set Up a FaceBook Proxy

Some networks require authentication and submit data to a rigorous security analysis before allowing the traffic to pass out to the Internet. If your organization does not let you access Facebook and you require a proxy to do so, one can be configured from within Windows.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the Start menu and click "Control Panel."

    • 2

Click "Network and Internet," then select "Internet Options."

    • 3

Click, the tab item, labeled "Connections."

    • 4

Click "Lan Settings" and place a check mark in "Use a Proxy Server For Your Lan."

    • 5

Enter the IP address and port of the proxy in the "Address" and "Port" fields, then click "OK."

Tips & Warnings

  • If you don't know your proxy login information, consult your network administrator.
