Find the Perfect Piano Teacher

Finding a piano teacher in your area that offers piano lessons is one chore a parent sometimes has difficulties. Bringing the best out in your child musically means finding someone who can teach not only the keys of the piano, but also the joy of music. A good piano teacher can bring about the world of music in a whole new way that captures a chid for life. Here are the steps to find the perfect local piano teacher for your child.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Start by asking at your school. Other students parents, the school staff or even the school bulletin board can help you find leads for local piano teachers. Most of the time, the school angle is extremely helpful!

  2. Step 2

Check the bulletin boards of the local coffee shops and child clothing stores. These little places are hot spots for locals who have great talents that they share with other people (and their kids.)

  3. Step 3

Check the local music store to see if they have any recommendations for local piano teachers or if they have a bulletin board for locals to place lesson information on. Usually the music stores have lots of locals looking to make a few bucks giving lessons.

  4. Step 4

Pick up a copy of the local parenting magazine and see who is offering piano lessons in your community. Serious piano teachers usually place a small ad in the back of the magazines.

Tips & Warnings
  • When you talk to the piano teacher, make sure they have enthusiasm for the music which they teach. Plenty of gusto is important as children will, at first, be rather annoyed by continuous lessons. Also look for a teacher who works with children about the same age as your child.
