Quiche Lorraine is a classic French egg dish that is perfect for breakfast or brunch. Serve it with a side of sausages and some fresh fruit. Does this Spark an idea?

  • 9-inch pie crust
  • 1/2 cup onion, diced
  • 1/2 pound bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 1/2 cups Swiss cheese, shredded
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Instructions

      Preheat your oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit. Prepare your pastry as directed or use a store-bought pie crust.

      Sprinkle the bacon, chopped onion and shredded Swiss cheese into the pie crust.

      Beat the eggs slightly and add the cream, salt and cayenne pepper. Pour the egg mixture over the ingredients in the pie crust. Place the quiche on a baking sheet in case it spills over. Bake the quiche for 20 minutes. Reduce the oven temperature to about 300 degrees and bake for an additional 40 to 60 minutes or until a knife inserted into the center comes out dry and clean.
