The first step you should consider is whether you actually have a case. For example, if 20 lawyers have told you that there is no way you could win the case, perhaps you should reconsider the lawsuit.

If you decide to ignore the lawyers' advice, the second step you should consider is the potential amount of money needed to win the case. If the amount of money needed to win the case is more than the potential amount won, perhaps you should reconsider the lawsuit.

If you still decide to proceed with the lawsuit, the third step you should also take into consideration is the stress of litigation. There could be delays and errors, which could cause the case to be longer than originally expected. Simply put, you have to be financially and mentally prepared for anything that happens.
