Have you ever dreamed of being onstage with a guitar in your hand and millions of people saying your name? Then you go to your solo and they go into a frenzy? Well to get there you have to start with the basics. Here is how to play the chromatic scale on guitar:

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Guitar
  • A little patience
  1. Step 1

    To play the chromatic scale, you pick the open E string. Then you put your first finger on the first fret of the low E string. Pick the low E string. Then put your second finger on the second fret, pick, third finger on third fret, pick, then fourth finger on fourth fret. Repeat for all strings.

  2. Step 2

    Now that you have played through all the strings, it's time to play it backwards. You start with the high E string, put your fourth finger on the fourth finger on the fourth fret. Then third on the third fret, then second on second fret, then first on first fret, then open. Repeat for all strings.

  3. Step 3

    You just played the chromatic scale on guitar!

Tips & Warnings
  • Play it faster each time.
  • Be patient. It takes time to hone in your skills on the guitar
  • Don't give up!
