Take your construction paper or card stock and pull it together to make the cone. Take hot glue or tape and pull the edges together to make your hat. Attach your decorations to the hat to make it the theme that matches your birthday party. We have chosen a circus theme here for our hat and added pom poms and other things that a clown might wear on his hat. You can then punch two holes in either side of the bottom of the hat and add a ribbon or a string if you would like to keep the hat on the child's head.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can use foam forms if you want to use something more sturdy for your hat.
  • Let your kids help you decorate the hats. It can be a fun time for all!
  • I found my pattern at http://www.craftysecrets.com Thanks!
  • Use caution when using hot glue guns especially around children.
