How to Fix Shrimp on the Grill
Good grilled shrimp starts with the shrimp itself. Always start with jumbo shrimp. Jumbo shrimp will be easier to handle on skewers or with tongs, and they will not slip through the spokes in the grill. No marination is needed to grill shrimp, but, if you choose to do that, soak them in a garlic butter mix. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Clean and devein the shrimp. The vein, a black line on the back of the shrimp, could contain sand that will change the taste of the grilled shrimp. Make a shallow cut along the back of the shrimp with a short knife, and pull the vein out.

2
Thread the deveined shrimp on skewers. Place them on a grill no more than 4 inches above the fire. As an alternative, place the shrimp in an oiled grill basket.

3
Brush the unmarinated shrimp with a bit of olive oil, and cook until each piece turns pink on one side. Turn the shrimp over and cook the other side. The shrimp is done when the flesh is white. It should take no more than 7 minutes.
