Keeping your browser up to date will keep your browsing experience secure, fast, and efficient. Updating software is key to having all built in features up to date and functioning properly. Here you will learn how to update Google chrome and stay updated.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer
  • Internet access
  • Google Chrome
  1. Step 1
     

    Open Google Chrome. It is usually located on your desktop. If a desktop icon does not exist, it can be found under your program files or quick launch icons.

  2. Step 2
     

    After Google Chrome is open locate the Customize and Control icon, it is located in upper right corner. It looks like a blue wrench.

  3. Step 3
     

    When the menu drops down, locate the "About Google Chrome Option" and select it.

  4. Step 4

    When the "About Google Chrome" window opens, Google chrome will automatically search for new updates and begin to install them. This action can be seen in the lower left part of this window.

  5. Step 5
     

    After Google Chrome has completed updating, it will ask you to reset your browser. After the browser has reset go back to the "About Google Chrome" window and you will receive a message that your browser is now up to date.

Tips & Warnings
  • After an update, the browser will automatically restart, make sure you are not in the middle of anything important because your work will be lost.
