Things You'll Need:
-
Step 1
Make your bed. This will be a start to getting you into the cleaning process and you will use your made bed for your clothes.
-
Step 2
Go through the clothes on your bedroom floor and put the clean ones on your bed and throw the dirty ones into a hamper or as I do, out into the hall for sorting later.
-
Step 3
Once all clothes are picked up off the floor, a simple next step would be to collect all the trash and put it into the trash bag, that way all that is left on your floor should be things that you will be able to put away in it's proper spots.
-
Step 4
Now, this is where you can do 1 of 2 things depending on how bad your room is. You can organize your closet so that you will be able to put more things away, including your clothes. You can do this by taking out everything in the bottom of your closet and putting it all back in neat things. This could be time consuming, but worth it in the end.
-
Step 5
Once your closet is cleaned, it's time to start folding your clothes and putting them on hangers to be put away. If your drawers need more organizing this would be a good time to pull your clothes out and re-fold and reorganize them accordingly. My drawers are arranged in this order from top to bottom: socks and underwear, tank tops and swimsuits, shirts, shorts and pants, and pajamas. That way it is easy to find everything.
-
Step 6
By this time, your room should be almost cleaned. There should be nothing on your floor and your clothes should be cleaned off of you bed. Now is time to dust and vacuum.
-
Step 7
Take a step back and enjoy your newly cleaned room. If you're like me, it won't last very long, so enjoy it while you can!
