In 1692 nearly 20 people were killed for being "witches," while hundreds of others perished across New England during a witch-hunt craze. Puritans, a devout Christian religious group that settles much of the Massachusetts Bay colony, were beset by a rash of young girls claiming that evil spirits inhabited themselves, placed there by townspeople whom they accused of witchcraft. Museums such as the Salem Witch Museum re-enact the stories of the Salem Witch Trials. Learn how to visit the Salem Witch Museum to get an education on these historical events.
