  1. Step 1

    Ginger is an herb that helps reduce inflammation. You can make a tea with fresh or dry ginger. Scrape a quarter of a teaspoon of ginger into warm water. Filter it through a cotton cloth, or you a tea strainer to stir the ginger into the water. You can also use ginger in a bath to reduce inflammation externally.

  2. Step 2

    The homeopathic remedy RUTA is useful for arthritis symptoms that are worse from damp weather, and worse after exercising. If your joints are fine in the morning but worse after a day of using then, consider this remedy. Ruta is available over-the-counter in many health food and specialty food stores.

  3. Step 3

    An old-time remedy for arthritis is apple cider vinegar. Put a spoon of vinegar into a glass of water and drink. This can remove the inflammation.

  4. Step 4

    Lemon can also cut down on the inflammation in joints. Squeeze one half of a lemon into a glass of water. Sweeten with honey or maple syrup to taste. This invigorating drink helps reduce arthritis pain.
