Popsicles are an excellent way to cool off during the hot summer months. Commercially available, store-bought popsicles, however, usually have artificial colors and very high sugar content. Because sugar is dehydrating, you should stay away from store bought popsicles as much as possible. Instead, make your own healthy popsicles made with fresh raw juice and fruit fiber. Raw juice is healthier than processed juice, because the vitamins and minerals are complete.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Choose the types of fresh fruits you want to make into popsicles. You can choose to make raw juice popsicles that are one fruit flavor, or choose a combination of fruits that you would like to combine into one popsicle flavor, such as multiple types of berries in one popsicle.

  2. Step 2

Use a juice extractor or blender to liquefy the fruits. A juice extractor will give you pure juice, removing the pulp, while a blender will leave the pulp in the juice mix.

If you are using a juice extractor, open the bin that the pulp is separated into, and mix this back into the extracted juice.

Visit the links in the "resources" section below for examples of juice extractors and blenders.

  3. Step 3

Pour the fresh raw juice and pulp mixture into the popsicle mold cups. Cover with the popsicle mold seals.

  4. Step 4

Place the raw juice popsicle molds in your freezer for at least eight hours. If you open the freezer to get other things out, it will take longer for the raw juice popsicles to freeze completely.
