Things You'll Need:
- Eye-shadow primer
- Bright eye-shadow palette such as deep blues, purple, turquoise or green
- Medium eye-shadow brush
- Eyeliner brush
- Eyelash curler
- Mascara
-
Step 1
Eye-shadow primerUse an eye-shadow primer to help with application and to avoid any creases in your eye makeup. Primer also enhances the look of the shadow, whether it is done boldly or more subtly.
-
Step 2
Eye-shadow palatteApply a soft layer eye-shadow color over the entire lid using a medium eye-shadow brush. For a more subtle look, apply only to the crease. For a bolder look, extend the shadow all the way to the brow bone. To create an intense look, apply an additional layer until the desired effect is achieved. You also can use complementary colors to blend together. Use a base color on the eyelid, and then an accent color in the eyelid crease. Blend to create a seamless look.
-
Step 3
Liquid eyelinerLine the top and bottom lash lines with the same bright, popping eye shadow using an eyeliner brush. When applying shadow to the lower lashes, smudge the line with either a finger or a brush. For a bolder look, use liquid black eyeliner to line both the top and bottom lashes.
-
Step 4
Eyelash curlerCurl the eyelashes with an eyelash curler. For a more exaggerated curl, either use a heated eyelash curler or warm up a traditional curler with the hot air from a hair dryer. Curl the eyelashes from the base of the lash, crimping as you move up on the lashes.
-
Step 5
MascaraApply at least two or three coats of mascara to the lashes. When using bold, bright popping eye shadow, the lashes must be thick and dark, so they are not invincible against the shadow.
