Vaniqa is a hair inhibitor cream that slows hair growth. It is mainly targeted to women who suffer from unwanted facial hair. It is believed to work by blocking an enzyme in the hair follicle that is responsible for hair growth, thereby reducing hair growth significantly. Vaniqa is the first and only prescription hair inhibitor that has been approved by the FDA. Vaniqa's effects have been studied only on facial hair growth in women. Most women have reported results after about 8 weeks of regular use.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Facial cleanser
  • Towel
  1. Step 1

Remove your unwanted facial hair in the method you usually employ, whether it's a depilatory cream, facial wax or shaving. You must continue removing the unwanted facial hair for as long as you apply the Vaniqa cream.

  2. Step 2

Wash your face with a gentle cleanser and pat dry.

  3. Step 3

Apply a pea-sized amount of Vaniqa cream to the affected area and massage it in deeply until the area is covered completely. Vaniqa cream must be applied twice a day, about every 8 hours. For best results, use once in the morning and once at night before bedtime.

  4. Step 4

Put on moisturizer, sunscreen or makeup as you usually would, but make sure to apply it after you've applied the Vaniqa cream.

Tips & Warnings
  • Avoid washing your face for at least 4 hours after applying the Vaniqa cream. If you discontinue use of the cream, your facial will grow back as quickly as it did before. Be patient; it may take 8 weeks for you to begin seeing results.
  • If excessive irritation, redness or itching occurs, discontinue use and consult a dermatologist right away. A few reported side effects include acne, rash, tingling and burning sensations and irritation.
