How to Install Microsoft PowerPoint

Insert the Microsoft Powerpoint installation disc into your computer's CD-ROM drive door. Once the installation disc is detected, the Microsoft PowerPoint installation wizard will open automatically. A dialog window will appear automatically prompting you to enter your user information.

Enter your user information and product key. Type your name, initials, and organization in the designated, blank data forms that will appear on the first initial installation dialog screen. Enter the installation disc's product key in the five blank data forms at the bottom of the screen. (The product key can be found on the back of the installation disc's case.) A green check will appear on the right side of the fifth data form when you have entered the product key correctly.

Check the box that reads, "I Accept this Agreement" when the End-User License Agreement appears. Click "Next" to proceed to the initial installation process. Select the "Typical Installation" option to install the recommended Microsoft PowerPoint files and components to your computer's hard drive.

Install Microsoft PowerPoint. When the installation screen appears, click on the box that reads, "Microsoft PowerPoint" and select the "Install Application with the Typical Options" action. The installation disc will immediately begin downloading and copying its files and components to your computer's hard drive.

Conclude the Microsoft PowerPoint installation process. Click on the "Finish" option to close and complete the installation process. Restart your computer to configure the newly installed program's updates and components.

It may be better to purchase the Microsoft Office suite rather than Microsoft PowerPoint alone. Owning the entire suite lets you import files and documents that can improve your presentations.
Check your computer's hard drive and processor meets the system requirements. If it is not, the system may not run Microsoft PowerPoint effectively.
Restart your computer after installing PowerPoint. This will ensure that all of the program's components are functioning effectively on your computer's hard drive.
