Step 1
Click on the "Start" button located at the bottom left corner of the computer's desktop. From the menu that appears, select "Control Panel" from the second column of options.

Double-click the icon for "Programs and Features." If you are running the Windows XP operating system, the icon will read "Add or Remove Programs."

Scroll through the list of programs and click on the "WIndows Media Player 11" icon. This will give you the choice to "Uninstall" if you are using Windows Vista, or "Remove" if you are using Windows XP. Click the button to delete the program; a window will appear asking if you are sure you want to uninstall the program. Select "Yes."

Restart your computer.

Check your computer to make sure the program has been completely uninstalled. Click the "Start" button once again, and select "My Computer" for XP users, or "Computer" for Vista users. Double click the icon for "C-Drive" and then "Program Files." Scroll through and try to locate a folder for "Windows Media Player 11." If there is no folder present for this program, then it was successfully removed from your computer.
