Search for a company that places foreign exchange students. There are several of these companies, some of which include AYUSA, CCI, and Education First Foundation for Foreign Study. Make sure that the company you choose allows you to pick your own student and ensures that the student will have their spending money and medical insurance.

Fill out the application. You will have to provide several references and submit to a background check. Once the initial application has been reviewed, the company will contact your family for an interview.

Choose a student. Most companies provide you with several applications from students whom they feel would be a good match for you and your family. Things you should consider when making this decision include the student's culture, age and religious background.
