In the Dallas Area there are a number of volunteer opportunities through The Senior Source. There is a unique opportunity through a Foster Grandparent Program. Or become a Senior Companion to a frail elderly person. With your help as a volunteer companion, older people with physical and emotional needs receive extra care so they can remain independent in their own homes and stay out of nursing homes. on 6/24/2009 This is great information. I wish I could get my father in law to consider volunteering... he just sits in his lazy boy and bitches about everything. But he says old people are fossils and even though he is in his 70's he swears he is not a fossil...
he really needs to get a life
