The green part needs to be "shucked" off an ear of corn.

There is nothing like eating sweet corn. Some like it with butter and salt, some like it with no extras. However, you do have to prepare the corn before you eat it. That begins with the proper "shucking" of the corn, or the removal of the green husk that surrounds the the cob. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

      Grab the corn by the bottom of the stalk.

      Grab one side of husks at the top and pull straight down.

    • 3

      Turn the corn around and pull all of the husks straight down. Discard the removed husks.

      The hairs on the corn are the silk. Grab as much silk as you can and pull it off at once. However, a stray silk or two is bound to remain. Pick those silks out right before the corn is cooked.

      Break off the stalk with your hands. If the stalk is stubborn, cut it off with a knife.
