Do you want that restaurant quality steak taste? The secret to a juicy succulent steak is pan roasting. Pan roasting sears in the juices and creates a delectable crunchy crust on the steak. Top quality restaurants such as Craftsteak use this method to cook their steaks.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Get the pan smoking hot! While pan is getting hot preheat the oven to 450 degrees.

  2. Step 2

Pour Olive oil into hot pan.

  3. Step 3

Place steak in pan. Once in pan DO NOT MOVE! Let steak sear on each side for about 3-4 minutes depending on the cut and thickness of the steak.

  4. Step 4

Once steak has seared, move the pan into the oven for about 3-4 minutes.

  5. Step 5

Take pan out of oven, take about 2 tablespoons of butter and put in pan. Baste the steak with the butter for about 1 minute.

  6. Step 6

Let steak REST for 5 minutes before serving. This will allow the juices to redistribute through the meat and not bleed out onto the plate.

Tips & Warnings
  • Don't move steak while searing
  • Let steak rest for 5 minutes
  • Use a quality steak
  • Pan will be very hot when you take it out of the oven, use an oven mit!
  • If you don't let the steak rest the juices will run out of the steak which causes a dry and flavorless steak
