Vegetarian French bread pizza is a wonderfully tasty and healthy substitute for the regular cholesterol filled pizza's you may be use to. This is a simple to follow recipe that can be modified to suit your own personal tastes. I hope you enjoy!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 Loaf French Bread
  • 4-6 Cups of Spaghetti sauce
  • 2 Tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1 Tsp Garlic Powder
  • 2 Tsp Dry Oregano
  • 2 Tsp Dry Basil
  • Dash of Black Pepper (optional)
  • 1 Cup Black Olives, sliced
  • 1 Cup Onion, chopped
  • 2 Cups carrot, finely grated
  • 1 Cup Green or Red Pepper, chopped
  • 2 Medium Tomatoes, thinly sliced
  • Feel Free to Substitute with your own Veggies of choice
  1. Step 1

Preparations: Preheat oven to 450*F and get your veggies chopped, sliced and grated.

  2. Step 2

Cut your loaf of french bread in half length-wise and drizzle with oil.

** Tip ** Put the halves together and press gently to help distribute the olive oil over the bread evenly.

  3. Step 3

In a small skillet, saute your onions and peppers for approx. 5 minutes to help soften them and release their flavors.

  4. Step 4

Place your french bread on a flat baking sheet side by side, but not touching.

  5. Step 5

Spoon spaghetti sauce over each half until covered. Use your personal judgment and preference on how much you put on each half.

  6. Step 6

Sprinkle the sauce with your garlic, black pepper, oregano and basil.

  7. Step 7

Place your onion, peppers and black olives on top of the sauce and sprinkle with the finely grated carrot.

  8. Step 8

Place the Vegetarian french bread and baking sheet in over for 12 to 15 minutes or until the french bread crust becomes a light golden brown. Be careful not to allow your grated carrot to brown as this can give them a dry taste.

  9. Step 9

Remove from the oven and top with your fresh tomato slices, cut and serve hot.
