Preparations: Preheat oven to 450*F and get your veggies chopped, sliced and grated.

Step 2
Cut your loaf of french bread in half length-wise and drizzle with oil.
** Tip ** Put the halves together and press gently to help distribute the olive oil over the bread evenly. -
Step 3
In a small skillet, saute your onions and peppers for approx. 5 minutes to help soften them and release their flavors.
-
Step 4
Place your french bread on a flat baking sheet side by side, but not touching.
-
Step 5
Spoon spaghetti sauce over each half until covered. Use your personal judgment and preference on how much you put on each half.
-
Step 6
Sprinkle the sauce with your garlic, black pepper, oregano and basil.
-
Step 7
Place your onion, peppers and black olives on top of the sauce and sprinkle with the finely grated carrot.
-
Step 8
Place the Vegetarian french bread and baking sheet in over for 12 to 15 minutes or until the french bread crust becomes a light golden brown. Be careful not to allow your grated carrot to brown as this can give them a dry taste.
-
Step 9
Remove from the oven and top with your fresh tomato slices, cut and serve hot.
